Picis CEO to Lend HIT Expertise at Key Industry Event
Todd Cozzens joins ACG Boston panel of leading healthcare and financial industry experts; Offers perspective on ARRA, technology and hospital trends
WAKEFIELD, Mass. — Nov. 12, 2009 — Picis announced today that CEO and Vice Chairman Todd Cozzens will participate in a panel discussion of leading healthcare and financial experts at this year’s ACG Boston's 2009 Fall Conference & Private Company Showcase, Nov. 17, in Boston, Mass. The event, which will feature a keynote by John D. Halamka, CIO of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center & Harvard Medical School, is expected to attract approximately 400 professionals from the healthcare IT (HIT) investment banking, private equity/venture capital, and legal communities.
The ACG Boston HIT panel — comprised of executive leaders from Picis, Goldman Sachs, athenahealth, Inc. and Flexpoint Ford, and moderated by Scott Kirsner, writer and editor at Boston.com — will discuss key financing and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) trends in the healthcare market. As the panel’s HIT expert, Cozzens will provide perspective on technology’s role in transforming the healthcare industry, adoption trends and how the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) reimbursement money is likely to drive spending on technology. Following the panel, Cozzens will also lead a presentation on Picis at the Private Company Showcase, which features presentations from select CEOs of leading private HIT companies.

About Todd Cozzens
Cozzens, who co-founded Picis in 1994, has more than 23 years of experience in the healthcare technology and information systems industry. It was Cozzens’ original strategic vision of information systems for the high-acuity care areas of hospitals that drove the company’s growth trajectory over 1,500% since 2001. Prior to Picis, he served as the president of a division of Marquette Medical Systems (now GE Healthcare) and held several other senior management positions, including vice president of sales, from 1983 to 1995. Cozzens is a graduate of Marquette University and the Harvard Business School Executive Program for Management Development. He was named Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young in 2005 and was a four-time member of the U.S. Olympic Sailing Team.
